A date with myself

I was the kind of person who couldn’t do anything by myself, especially going out and shopping because I have always done everything with my younger sister who is just a year younger than me. We have been doing everything together like twins for the past 20 years. Today she is living 11,230 Km away from me. I had to learn to do things by myself.

Last Friday night I went to watch a movie alone for the first time. I wasn’t sure I will enjoy it since I have never done that. When I was buying my ticket, the lady behind the counter asked me if my friends were running late and I told her I was alone. She looked at me and asked me again if I was sure I wanted to watch the movie alone and I say yes.

I was surprised how much I felt good, relaxed and I honestly enjoy every second of the movie. It was an incredible experience. Almost six months ago I read a blog post on dates you can do alone and I was skeptical to try them out. I have come to understand that it doesn’t hurt to have some “ME” time even if it leads you to the movies.

What are the things you enjoy doing alone?

Till next Sunday

  1. I really like to spend time with myself and for myself, it makes me feel so good and peaceful.
I also think that we all need those kind of moments in our lives๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

  2. Honestly, going to the movies alone is something that I’d prefer to do cos then I’d actually be able to ENJOY and HEAR the movie right since half the time my boyfriend is asking me a million questions about what’s going on that one time I ended up just saying, “SHUT UP AND LISTEN.” I think there’s a lot of things one can do alone but society has made it such a huge taboo. So good on you for doing something you love by yourself! I’m glad you had fun!

  3. This is fantastic! Love it! I believe that we are so busy, with so much noise, so much going on – Phones, TV, Internet, Videos, Commercials, Billboards, Radio, Social Media, etc – that we have no idea how to be alone. With our own thoughts. In the quiet and stillness. So anything you can do to tap into spending time with yourself and learning who you are, I believe will only add to your inner peace, confidence, and fulfillment. Good on you and good luck in your journey!
