Five tips for effective communication

Thousands of people have great vision and message to share with the world but lack the simple basics of effective communication. If you want help or want to be heard you need to learn how to communicate effectively.

How to communicate effectively

1. Simplify your message

Forget about all the big words, fancy jargon you know and complex sentences. say what you want to say. Keep it simple and clear. Speak in the language they understand, speak to their hearts

2. Know the person you are talking to

Don’t assume things about the person you are talking to. If you need help from someone, know exactly what you need with and ask accordingly

3. Show the truth

Believe in what you are saying and live what you say. Your words and actions should always be aligned and say the same thing. Be true to yourself, don’t pretend to be someone else to draw more attention

4. Be confident

Understand your message first. If you don’t believe in what you are saying yourself, others are luckily to be confused as well. Be confident and believe in yourself

5. Seek a response from the person you are talking to

Give the person the opportunity to think about it and act. Whenever you communicate something to people, give them something to remember, something to feel something to believe in

  1. These are some very straight forward but effective tips, thank you! I don’t like talking in front of an audience, but trying to increase my confidence so these tips are very helpful!

    1. A number of people fear public speaking too, including me. I think practice make the fear go away and remain confident all the time.
