Uncovered movie: Review

I had the opportunity to be invited to watch the preview screening of the new movie UNCOVERED on the 26 of June 2019 at the Ster-Kinekor Office park in Sandton.

Uncovered is a movie which talks about the political landscape and the land issue in South Africa in a beautiful, amazing and creative way. It is the story of a young journalist Phumla who wanted to expose corruption and murders committed by Frank Drake the CEO of a mine in Kwa-Zulu Natal. However, Atula will have to finish her sister’s fight and tell the world the truth. Great actors such as Nqobile Khumalo, Robert Hobbs,Sthandiwe Kgoroge, Fezile Makhanya, Thandeka Nodada, Sorisha Naisoo and Dumisani Mbebe put their best performance and it was amazing to watch.

One of the best movie I have watched so far, tackling real problems faced by real people especially people living in rural area, people we do not even know they exist but yet live in the same country as us. Nqobile Khumalo who plays the main character Atula Ndlovu was sitting right next to me and at some point in the movie I was so emotional that I asked her to tell me what will happen to Atula next and she told me: “I can’t tell you, just watch it till the end.”

The movie will be officially released on the 30 August 2019. It is a must watch movie not only for supporting local productions but to have an overall view on what is happening outside your comfort zone. Make sure you look out for this movie and watch it.

Till next time
