10 ways to feel good on bad days

Have you ever felt so down that you want to sleep the whole day or go have drinks until you can’t stand on your feet or even worse, forcing yourself to throw up hoping that it will come out and you will feel better? You are not alone, I used to sleep for the entire day when I felt down and started to think how miserable I am and how I will never be happy again. Those were old days. I have changed my habits and have adopted 10 ways to feel good which I hope will be helpful to you.

10 ways to feel good on bad days

1.Go for a long walk in a park:

You don’t have to be a super fan of this activity or a master at hiking, walking in a park help you distress and clear your mind.

2.Call your favorite person and complain about it:

The person you are most comfortable with, your best friend or someone you enjoy talking to. Call them and get it out of your chest.

3. Make yourself a feast: eat like royalty,

You don’t have to wait for Sundays or when you have people over your house or special occasion to eat your favorite dish. Go to the grocery store buy all the ingredients you need to make the dish you saw on Masterchef the other day. Don’t forget to prepare a dessert also.

4. Read a funny book,

There are so many books to choose from and a variety of options where one can find books: local library, a book shop, online version, borrow one from friends.

5. Visit your best friend or fly back home,

Follow your heart it knows what is best for you.

6. Offer a gift to someone,

It can be as simple as a card where you write why you love them. Giving brings more joy than receiving. The best gift you can give to someone is your time: do volunteer work in your community.

7. Clean your room and get rid of whatever you don’t need,

It helps clear your thoughts, stay active and have a clean home. You might find hidden treasures or things you really need to get rid off.

8. Do nothing at all,

Sometimes the only thing to do is to let yourself be, do nothing at all. Allow yourself to feel bad, it is normal every single person on earth has experienced this at one point in their lives, take it easy, relax, take a long bath or a long nap. It is going to be alright.

9. My personal favorite is doing DIY projects ( I can’t stop, I really like that),

your mind concentrate on the present moment and on the things in front of you. DIY projets help me relax and refocus on what matter the most: the present. Doing activities which require creativity boost your mood and self confidence.

10. Play your favorite song, turn up the volume and dance,

What do you like to do to feel better?

Till next Sunday

Be Yourself

  1. All great suggestions you’ve listed because they all require US to do something for ourselves – to take charge and not rely on others to help us feel good. Although, if someone shows up unexpectedly at our door with dinner already prepared, I might feel pretty good life at that moment. I really resonate with the first point – getting outdoors. After going on an adventure for the day, we always come back feeling better. Thanks for posting!

  2. Sometimes, it’s our fault for not being wise enough to know what we could have done to avoid this problem, not wise enough to know who to trust or not .( I’m talking about those who have been deceived by people to such a point where they couldn’t hand it anymore). I have already been in such situation, sometimes it was hard to forget. But , since I REALLY met Jesus, everything has changed .. why ? Simply because , firstly, I was thirsty to know more of him.
Secondly, He is the only one to whom I am talking about my life, my secrets, all that concerns me. I prefer to talk to him. When I ‘m talking to him, I am hundred per cent sure that he cannot do what people always do, talking on your back.
Thirdly, He can never deceive you, He can never exposed your problems, situations to people , He keeps it for you and him, helps you , hold your hand so that you and him may walk together in each steps of your life.
He will give you the assurance of who you really are and you won’t even worry about any kind of situation, he will be telling you what to do.

    1. I understand where you’re coming from. Forgive and forget. God didn’t create us to live in isolation, your deepest secrets is indeed between you and Him but sometimes you need the support of your loved ones people through whom you see how God is amazing and love you unconditionally.
Being deep into spirituality shouldn’t be a reason ro isolate yourself and enjoy the little things in life such as helping your neighbour in need. 😊
Maybe you don’t need others to feel good but there are people around you who need you to feel good. 😉

      1. Maybe I wasn’t clear, I am not isolating myself and I am enjoying those little things in life such as helping neighbor in need that’s also why it’s a pleasure for me to always comment on your post, for I know that it may help someone. Christianity does not teach us to be isolated from people.. My general point of view in my previous comment was to point out that there is someone who never deceive people. There is someone who help better than anybody… Of course, I can talk to my loved ones and most of the time, God uses them. 💕

  3. i love your list and my favorite is DIY and cleaning my space. I am addicted to that. I am also adding an hour outside running, grounding and then end the day in the bathtub with candles and nice smelling bath bomb. self care must also be a priority. =)

  4. It is surprising how good you can feel after cleaning and purging your home of things you don’t need! I especially agree about making DIYs as therapy! In fact, I love crafting so much, I’ve made blog about it: trinketsandlove.com !

  6. Thank you for this. I actually needed it at this moment. For me, crying over the what nots really helps. Because sometimes not even words can express how I feel. So crying somehow is like a communication with my heart for it to feel at ease. Thanks self lovies society 🙏🏽💕 enjoyed reading this.

      2. Blogging really requires you to be patient and authentic. People need to relate to what you write and you need to be consistent with your content and yourself. I will also recommend that you learn from fellow bloggers and join blogger’s groups on Facebook or Twitter.
