She Means Business: women’s day crush

Women’s day was not going to be women’s day for me if I didn’t share a post specially dedicated to women. Around this time last year, I went to a women only conference and the hashtag was #SHEMEANSBUSINESS, by that you understand strong unapologetic women who mean business, who fight for what they want, who create a table and invite other women, women who uplift each other and don’t apologize for their success because they have worked hard to be where they are. That is why the perfect tittle for this post was obviously going to be SHE MEANS BUSINESS.

For the past few weeks, I discovered amazing, strong and talented women who mean business and this entire post is dedicated to them. Here are the 7+ phenomenal women who mean business we are crushing on this month.

Bel’s Studio

The 24 years old owner Belaura Beloti, who was born in the DR Congo is a qualified accountant from the University of Johannesburg. Despite her qualifications obtained from the University of Johannesburg, Belaura has always had a passion for art, colors and shapes; having done visual arts in high school, makeup and beauty became one of her passions

Bel’s Studio is a rising makeup and beauty studio located in Johannesburg, South Africa that aims to offer luxurious, high end makeup artistry and beauty services to its clients. Even though the studio’s main focus is making up our clients, the goal is to diversify our services by offering makeup masterclasses as well as consulting services by meeting and exceeding clients expectations.

“My Business was inspired by our Creator.Worked as National Key Account & Sales & Marketing Manager for the past 17 years.I was out of work for nine months, God made me wait to get closer to Him. He inspired me to build Bomas. Goodies for Gardens gave me the opportunity to build a showcase boma. I found my Foreman at the time fixing a house up the road. Known as Shila Maphai -Bolenge born on 27 April 1989 whilst parents were exiled during the struggle for liberation against apartheid. Shila has 13 years of extensive experience working in the development, banking, private and government sectors. Noting the gaps within the various industries it was only natural to bridge the gaps and founded various companies within the beauty, fashion and food sector industry.

This mobile beauty spa is owned by Lablonde Kalubi, a 24 years and originally from DRC but grew up in South Africa and she is the 8th child out of 9 children. She did a short course on cosmethology at a women center and fall in love with the course. She named her business after herself.

Lablonche Beauty Mobile spa is a small company offering services such : Lashes,Nails, pedicure and manicure in the comfort of your own home, as our mission is to give the best services to clients and we also try to give back to the community as much as we can.

Lady Flu

I the owner Jade Castleman came up with LadyFlu one night when looking for ways to pamper myself on my monthly and realized there is very little in the market currently for women in that regard.

Ndlovukazi Wines

Kholeka Nombuso Nxumalo is the CEO and Founder of Ndlovukazi Wines. Born and raised in the East Rand side of Johannesburg. Used to live in Cape Town, that’s where her passion of Winery started. She’s a flight attendant for Comair (pty) Ltd, after leaving Qatar Airways. She also owns a ice making company called Ice Queens. Having owned two beauty spas previously (Botho Bontle Spa + Anashe Beauty Spa), she is passionate about business and inspiring others.

Ndlovukazi Wines is a wine brand owned by a black woman who is Spruitview based. The wine brand was founded in July 2020. The wine brand has 3 variants for wines as introductory level (2018 Shiraz, 2018 White Blend & 2018 Red Blend Merlot). We call these variants The Triplets within the brand. We will be launching our Sparkling Wine And MCC Brut soon. We strive to inspire and cultivate a lifestyle of elegance.

Shantys Organics

The founder is Aishat Adebonojo, a 30 years old biomedical technology graduate from Vaal university of technology. She’s passionate about all she does, before the brand, she’s been a business woman since age 19, and business paid for her studies and living expenses. After Degree, she did training in skin and haircare formulations in Nigeria, based on her previous knowledge in chemistry, she is able distill and brew her own essential oils for her formulations. Her aim is to inspire and empower more women entrepreneurs to believe in their dream , also start small and stay focus.

Shantys organics is combination of organic haircare and natural body butter products . We are handcrafted, homemade and made from raw ingredients, we brew all our essential oils ourselves. Our products are designed to help promote hair growth and treat scalp issues like aleopecia and premature graying, And over a year we have achieved so much by helping women gain their hair confidence back. All our ingredients are from direct farm from Western part of Nigeria , products in our range in total are 12 in number.

Déborah Mbathe ,an enterprising young woman in African artisan fashion and many others, she’s also a fashion blogger in an online magazine from Ivory Cost called Abijan Groove where she shares the latest trends and tips to always be and look fashionable. She also works full time in fashion.

TAAJI is a traditional African ready-to-wear online store, the name comes from the Swahili language TAJI which means: Crown, since Africa is a whole kingdom full of so much. We have a passion for traditional African craftsmanship and leather work, Taaji creates links with artisan communities to generate fair trade on original items from Africa. Our fabrics come both from Congo and from other African countries.

Yazeewa is founded by two sisters Amanda Nxele and Nombuso Mtshali who collectively have years of experience in the sales, client management and information technology industries, respectively. Their passion lies in better creating an online shopping platform for South African shoppers and also creating a system for business owners that can manage their business through stock management, efficient delivery, that is seamless, safe and secure between the consumer and business owner. The company is also focused on digitizing businesses and helps them with branding.


We’ve built an e-commerce platform that will be able to host all business owners that want to have an online store but don’t necessarily have the funds to build it from scratch. We are still in this ever-competitive food business and have upgraded our services to offer meal prep services. Our business has grown despite having many competitors in the market.
